More than a Moment Masterclass: How to build sustainable anti-racist practices in your wedding biz
As one of the few Black wedding photogs in Minnesota, I’ve long since noticed the deep issues in the wedding industry that have excluded so many BIPOC. Today I’m excited to introduce a class that will help us all know better and do better.
What do I get?
90 minute masterclass
Who is this for?
ALL wedding vendors! Everyone is welcome, but this class will be specifically geared towards white and non-black POC.
What will I learn?
✅Why anti-racism in your wedding biz goes deeper than a diverse portfolio.
✅How to attract diverse clientele AND ensure they feel comfortable + supported.
✅To post or not to post? How to show up on social media.
✅Why you SHOULD mix business and politics.
✅Anti-racism in the education space. How to integrate anti-racist practices in the educational arm of your wedding biz.
✅Q+A: Ask all the questions you’ve been too afraid to ask about running an anti-racist business. I don’t answer these questions in DMs so now is your opportunity to ask!
✅Resources for continuing your anti-racism journey.
Have questions? Email Anna or Jess and ask away!
Nah, I don’t have questions- I’m ready!
Can we choose to not stay over night?
We are jam packing every moment of this workshop (including a reflection time around a bonfire and a sunrise session) so we are asking everyone to stay overnight to optimize your experience as well as bonding time!
If I can’t come, will you give refunds?
We will not be issuing refunds for anything other than an event cancellation out of our control. If you are unable to attend, you may sell your seat to another participant.
Are you taking Covid precautions?
We will be monitoring COVID in Minnesota; if state positivity rates remain below 4%, there will be no further requirements. If the positivity rate rises above 4%, we will ask that participants receive a negative COVID test from a clinic within 48 hours of the start of the workshop.
We ask that you monitor your own health and stay home if you do test positive for COVID. Our first priority is to keep you and the other participants safe and healthy!
Which meals will be provided?
Yes! You will be provided with dinner and breakfast, and ample snacks to keep you going! Feel free to bring some of your own fave snacks too though!
What kind of gear will I need?
We will provide a comprehensive list of recommended items, but at a minimum, participants will need a full-frame camera, at least one lens, memory cards, and a laptop.
If you do not own some or all of the recommended equipment, we will provide you with some place you can rent gear. And of course, if you have any questions on gear, we are here to help!
Can I come if have never shot a wedding before?
Absolutely! This workshop would be perfect for you!
What happens if I can’t come but I already paid?
All ticket purchases are non-refundable. However, if you find that you are not able to attend, you may sell your seat to another photographer.
When is payment due?
You will have the option to pay in full upon booking or to split the fee into two payments, the first being due upon booking, and the remainder due two weeks prior to the workshop.
What are sleeping arrangements like?
Every participant will have their own bed, but we cannot guarantee that everyone will have their own room or bathroom. You will be sharing a large cabin with up to 10 others.
